Floral and venue styling to enhance and elevate your wedding

It was out of this world. Even the hotel commented on how nice
their venue looked.

Congratulations, you’re getting married!

This is one of the most incredible times of your life. But, let’s be honest, it can be overwhelming at times too. There’s so much to do before the big day, and so many decisions to make. So if you’re stressing about how you can make your wedding look absolutely beautiful, relax. I’m here to help.

Every couple is different. You’ve got your own first date story, your own in-jokes, your own interests. So your wedding style should reflect who you are., and be personal and meaningful to you. And that’s why I never do the same design twice. I’m all about creating ridiculously gorgeous, one-off aesthetics that help enhance the best day of your life. And I’m also here to remind you that you don’t have to conform to outdated traditions, popular trends and overdone colour themes. Whatever you want for your wedding day look, I’ll help you achieve it – and more.

I cannot express how much I care about making your day perfect. It keeps me up at night and gets me out of bed in the morning. It genuinely is my mission. So we’ll work together to create a look for your wedding that you truly love. Something your guests will look back on and say, "That was so them!"

You will never hear me utter the words “it’s only a wedding”. Absolutely not. Your wedding is as important as my own. Hire me as your floral stylist and I’m on your team, which is a trust I take very seriously.

But, before you make any decisions, it’s important to know that floral and wedding stylists are not one size fits all. We each have our own take on things, and I want you to feel that I’m the right one for you.

So come to my workshop, let’s grab a coffee (or maybe a cocktail?) and chat about your big day. When we meet I think you’ll see just how much I care about making your wedding look truly stunning. Bring any pictures, colours or other materials that inspire you and let’s see if I can help you create a day that’s even more breathtaking than you imagined.

I work with couples all over Bath, Bristol, the Cotswolds, Somerset and the South West. I’m also happy to travel further afield if you think I’m the ideal floral and wedding stylist for your celebration.

A bit more about Lara & Lara Parnell Weddings

I set up Lara Parnell Weddings in 2016 and it’s the perfect marriage of my background in project management and design. As a floral and venue stylist, I combine my extensive training as a florist with a superb eye for styling to make people’s wedding days truly magical. I get to be creative and play around with colour and flowers, which is such a wonderful way to spend my days! I also get immense joy from being involved in people’s weddings – a couple’s happiness really is infectious.

I love running my own business but enjoy working as a team with other wedding suppliers to make sure you have the best day possible. When the right people are working together we can make magic!

Some of my favourite flowers are peonies, ranunculus and syringa. And my all-time favourite bloom is plumeria – I grew up in Sri Lanka and this fragrant flower always evokes the most wonderful memories.

My bucket list goals include featuring in a magazine editorial, travelling to the stunning Lake Como for some destination floral styling, and doing the flowers for a TV or film set. (Bridgerton set designers, call me!)

Home is Falfield, a pretty village north of Bristol and Bath in South Gloucestershire. Here you’ll find me pottering around the garden, trying new recipes or curled up in my favourite armchair with a book.

The room details were some of the best I’ve ever seen.

My commitment to sustainability

Working towards a more sustainable future is a big part of my work as a floral and wedding stylist. Reusing, repurposing and recycling styling elements and florals is a win for our beautiful planet as well as helping keep costs down.

While there is inevitably some waste from working with flowers at a wedding, I work hard to keep this to a minimum. A couple of years ago I even started collecting all my leftover petals and drying them out to make beautiful, biodegradable confetti.

I’m always up for exploring ways to make your wedding more sustainable. A recent example was a couple who used potted plants and trees as part of their decor, which were then gifted to family and friends afterwards.

When you hire me as your floral and wedding stylist you’ll get access to my huge collection of decor and props. This means you don’t have to buy anything that will be used just once.
